Mt. Mumpu : Climbing One of Zambia’s Tallest Points - 4 Days

3 Nights of Camping , Hiking and Exploring coupled with lots of adventure and self discovery. Mt.Mumpu is located in teh Serenje wilderness and is endowed with picturesque environments, archeological caves, Fort Elves, Waterfalls, flora and fauna.

Mount Mumpu is the tallest free-standing mountain in Zambia at nearly 2,000 m (6,600 ft).

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive in Serenje

Most of the trips are done in groups of 5 – 10. When you arrive in Serenje, a guide will meet up with you and you will go ahead to your first point of camping.

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Very fit healthwise. If you are unwell, it would be good to postpone your hiking experience to reduce risk.

No. The hike team does not provide any charging facilities. However, you can feel free to bring along a solar charging device.

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will need to buy all your essentials in advance before setting out.

What about internet access?

Yes. Internet can be intermittently while on the mountain.

What essential things do I need to bring along?

1) First aid kit
2) Navigation: map, compass, and GPS
3) Sun protection: sunscreen, sunglasses, hat
4) Insulation: jacket/raincoat, extra layers
5) Illumination: flashlight, lantern, or headlamp
6) Fire: matches, lighter, fire starters
7) Repair kit: duct tape and multifunctional tool
8) Nutrition: at least an extra day’s supply of no-cook, nutritious food
